I recently adopted painting to explore the emotional landscape of the pandemic. For me as with so many others, most of my 2020-2021 group encounters were in a grid of squares. As someone trained in photography, I was moved by moments where people met their webcams with a genuine desire to connect, and I was just as moved by some of the blank stares and vacated spaces that became fixtures of my everyday interactions. I am particularly grateful for the Nefesh community for producing some very special screenshots and amazingly, special Zoom spiritual moments.
